Breanna Henry- Exploring an Interdisciplinary Approach to Environmental Conservation
My name is Breanna Henry. I am an undergraduate Environmental Engineering student at Brown University with a strong interest in sustainable urban systems, water resources, and renewable energy. My academic training emphasizes both water treatment and energy systems, equipping me with the technical skills to analyze the intersection of infrastructure, environment, and communities.
By taking on a diverse array of projects, I have applied these technical skills in real-world settings, gaining hands-on experience with environmental data collection, fieldwork, and sustainability-driven design. These technical and real-world projects have shaped my commitment to designing resilient and equitable environmental systems in urban spaces by revealing the intersection between various scientific disciplines and building sustainable urban communities.
Currently, I am preparing to study abroad in Spain next semester to further expand my understanding of global environmental challenges and sustainable infrastructure, enabling me to bring a more interdisciplinary and international perspective to future engineering and planning work. Outside of the classroom, my passions include wildlife preservation volunteer work, women in STEM advocacy, traveling, and exercise.
